"Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God."
The goal of Christ Church is to provide a caring
environment where all children are welcomed and feel happy about discovering a
relationship with God.
The Church School is a modern facility equipped with a nursery, classroom, and library. Our Director of Youth Formation is responsible for designing a curriculum based on the learning needs of the children. A key part of that curriculum is a child-centered program called Godly Play. Godly Play is modeled after Maria Montessori's philosophy, where teachers manage the space and time but allow the children to discover their own knowledge and meaning in each week's lesson.
Our Sunday School is a lovely place for children to spend their Sunday
mornings. Our teachers are volunteers from the Christ Church community. In
addition to the Godly Play component, teachers engage children with creative
lesson plans that include reading, writing, listening, speaking, singing,
and crafts.
Our lessons start from the beginning of
the Bible, teaching Old Testament and New Testament stories. Our Godly
Play room is also a sacred place. Besides showcasing the wooden hand crafted
lesson materials, the Godly Play room can become a mini chapel where children will
learn how to be a participant in weekly service.
The Church School represents a clear pathway leading closer to God. We invite
your child to accompany us on our journey.
A great highlight of the year is Christ Church's famous Christmas Pageant, which puts the spotlight on our Church School and Treble Choir (along with the goats and pony)!
